Abraham Edelman, 89, of Queens Village, NY, died Saturday afternoon, May 10, 2008 at the North Shore Hospital in Queens, NY.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on March 31, 1919 the son of Max and Ida (Scherl) Edelman.  He lived in Dix Hills, LINY for 36 years and in Andover, VT for 5 years.

Mr. Edelman taught science in East Islip, N.Y. for 25 years and retired in 1975.

The surviving family includes his wife, Josefina (Quimson) Edelman of Queens Village, NY; one brother, David J. Edelman of Andover, VT and two nephews.

He was pre-deceased by one sister, Margaret  Edelman who died in 1990.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon, May 13^th at One O’clock in the Stringer Funeral Home with Rabbi Roger Lerner, officiating.

Interment will follow in Meyer-David Cemetery.
