Antoinette "Toni" Lafreniere, 93, of French Terrace in Claremont, passed
away into the arms of God on March 29, 2008 at the Valley Regional Hospital.
She was born in Newport, VT on June 23, 1914 the daughter of Evangeliste and
Eva (Dauphin) Joly.  The family moved to Montreal, PQ Canada shortly
thereafter, where she resided for four years before the family moved to
Claremont.   Toni was employed at Dartmouth Woolen Mill for thirty-seven
years as a draw-in. 

She always found joy in being around the family and expressed the importance
of living a close family life.  She especially loved to visit with her
grandchildren on the telephone, as well as with her many friends.  Toni's
hands were never idle.  She loved working with intricate crochet projects
that included many beautiful afghans.  She gave them away to her family and
friends to enjoy.  She loved story telling and had a deep appreciation for
genealogy.  She completed a beautiful scrapbook of her own life that
contained over 300 photos.  In her final years, Toni handwrote her memoirs
for her two sons to treasure.

She was the widow of Benoit Lafreniere whom she married on August 25, 1938
and he died on March 1, 1996.

The surviving family includes two sons, Paul Lafreniere and his wife,
Lorraine of Claremont and Denis Lafreniere and his wife, Elaine of
Limington, ME; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three
sisters, Theresa Amell of Claremont, Pauline Carignan and Evelyn Kennell of
Bradenton, FL; one brother, Gerard Joly and his wife, Denise of Bradenton
and many nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by an infant child in 1949 and a son, Andre on Aug. 17,
1959.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Monday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 1st at Eleven
O'clock in St Joseph Church with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor
officiating.  Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.

The family suggests that donations may be made in her memory to St Joseph
Church Renovation Fund, P.O. Box 824 or to St Mary's Grammar School, 18
Central Street, both of Claremont, NH 03743.
