Arline D. (Worcester)
Warren, 89, of West Street Ext., died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 19 after several years of failing
health. She was born at home in Goffstown, N.H.
to Claude and Ella (Poelham) Worcester on Sept 10, 1918. She grew up in Manchester,
N.H. and graduated from West
High School in 1934. She attended Hesser secretarial school. She was a resident of
Charlestown for 58 years.
She was predeceased by her husband of
43 years, Arlin Warren in 1988.
She is survived by two children. A
daughter, Joyce Sylvester and her husband David. Their children, Aaron; his wife Lori, 3 great-grand-daughters, Audrianna, Piper and
Rileigh and Alison Sylvester. All of Springfield,
VT. A son, Richard and his wife Mary of Ft Collins, CO. Their children, Zachary and his wife Crystal
also of Ft. Collins
and Ben and his fiancée, Melissa of Salt Lake City. She is also survived by three sisters, Alice Belhman of
Manchester, Edith Schmidtchen of Bedford and Ruth Stinson also of
Manchester. One aunt, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arline was the secretary for the
Marketing division at Jones and Lamson for 30 years.
She was an active member of the
Charlestown Congregational Church. She served as the secretary for the Charlestown and then the
Fall Mountain
School District for several years. An active member of the community, she was past president
and member of the Charlestown VFW Auxiliary, and Charlestown Women’s Club. She was also a member of the Charlestown Senior Citizens.
She was involved at Fort #4, serving as an interpreter for many years.
For 20 years she wintered in
Largo, Florida, where she enjoyed walking the beach.
There are no visiting hours.
A memorial service will be held on
Sunday, April 27, 2008 at One O’clock in the Charlestown Congregational Church with Rev. Malcolm Grobe, Pastor officiating. A
reception in the Pine Room will follow.
Committal services are at the
family’s convenience.
Arrangements are under the direction
of Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street.
