Arnold Bruce Fellows, 63, of Claremont, NH died peacefully on June 11, 2008 at DHMC with his wife, Patty, by his side. He died from numerous complications after discovering he had lung cancer just two months ago. Arnold was born February 3, 1945 in Newport, the son of the late Ira Daniel Fellows and Nellie E. Fellows.                                                                                                             Arnold was raised in Unity on a farm where he grew up attending school in Unity and Newport.  As a teenager he worked at the Newport Hospital; building lobster traps, and Dorr Woolen Company. In 1962, he met his future wife, Patty Belcher, who he married on October 28, 1967. They shared 45 years of devoted love for each other. They moved to Claremont after purchasing a home, 36 years ago. Arnold was then working at Sturm Ruger & Co., where he was employed for 20 years as a gun fitter on the bench. Then for the next 19 years he worked as a saw operator for Gloenco, Inc. In 2004, he became medically retired due to a previous battle with lung cancer. Arnold was a kind, loving man, who would go out of his way to help someone in need. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He loved family gatherings where Arnold loved being a storyteller and had many stories to tell, also having large gardens and giving most of his vegetables to his family, friends and neighbors. He loved going for rides, attending barbecues, tractor events, antique auto shows, playing with his children and then his grandchildren. When he built something, it lasted forever. But most of all, he loved being with his wife. Arnold is going to be greatly missed by her, his family and friends. At the time of his death, Arnold was a member of the NH Antique Tractor Club, National Rifle Assoication, AARP, and Handyman's Club of America.    

Besides his wife Patty, Arnold is survived by his wonderful two children, his son, Ricky A Fellows and his wife, Kimberly A (Davis) Fellows, of Claremont, NH; his daughter, Tracy (Fellows) Knapp and her husband, Randall S Knapp of Danbury, NH, 3 grandchildren, Marc A Morin of Edgewater, FL, Lauren N. Fellows and Jackson D. Fellows both of Claremont, NH. His four brothers, Stephen W. Fellows and his wife, Carolyn of Goshen, NH; Merlin I. Fellows of Unity, NH; Norman S. Fellows of Unity, NH; Richard W. Fellows and his wife, Mary of Lempster, NH. His brother-in-law, Bryan W. Fortune and his wife, Lisa of Shirley MA; Bruce J. Fortune and wife Kathy of Ashburnham, MA; David L. Fortune and his wife Donna, of Claremont, NH; Peter R. Fortune of Greenville, NH; William V. Fortune and his wife, Patricia of Fitchburg, MA and Keith A. Belcher and his wide, Karen of Westminster, VT. His sister-in-laws, Karen M. Stewart and her husband Robert of New Bern, NC; and Gail Belcher of Bellows Falls, VT. 11 nephews and 12 nieces. Two aunts, Marjorie Spaulding of North Springfield, VT and Marion Fellows of Goshen, NH. He was predeceased by a sister-in-law, Nancy (Merlin's wife) in 2005.  Family and friends may call Friday, June 13th from 6-8pm and the Stringer Funeral Home on 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Saturday.  A graveside committal service will be held at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport NH on Monday, June 16^th at 11am.
