Bernice “Bunny” Hueber Garneau, 94, formerly of Claremont for 42 years, died Thursday, December 4, 2008, at her daughter’s residence in Englewood, Florida.  She had resided in Englewood for the past 26 years.

She was born in Manchester, NH on March 9, 1914 the daughter of Alfred and Mary (McGranaghan) Hueber.

She graduated from Towle High School in Newport in the Class of 1933.

Bunny retired in 1978 from New England Telephone as a telephone operator where she had worked for thirty-five years.

She was the widow Omer Garneau whom she married on September 30, 1940 and he died on March 11, 1980.

She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Court Virgil H. Barber #892, Claremont, St. Raphael’s Guild, Telephone Pioneers, New England Club, A.A.R.P. all of Englewood.

She is survived by three daughters; Anne McInnis and Mary McCullough of Englewood, Florida and Claire Thurber of Lempster; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Phyllis Houghton in 1962 and Margaret Jordan in 1992.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Lempster Meeting House Restoration Fund, 5 Wheelock Lane, Lempster, NH 03605, where she was a member of the Lovewell Mt. Drama Group, where she enjoyed acting in many plays.
