Clifford Alfred Prescott, 90, of the Bellows Falls Rd. in Charlestown, NH,
died Friday morning, February 1, 2008 at the Haven Health Center of
Claremont.

He was born in Lowell, MA on February 3, 1917 the son of Alfred J. and Ella
(Vinall) Prescott and had resided in Charlestown most of his life.

He was a veteran of WW II having served in the US Army with Company B, 146th
Engineer Combat Battalion.

He retired in Jan of 1975 from Jones & Lamson Machine Company in
Springfield, VT where he worked as a machinist and time study and had
previously worked as a frame spinner in the Lowell and Lawrence area.

He was a member of the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post #8497.

He enjoyed bowling, selling tickets at VFW Bingo, going to yard sales or
having one.  He also loved his workshop where he made knick knacks.

He was the widower of Evelyn Mary (McAndrew) Prescott whom he married on
Sept. 8, 1941 and she died on Oct. 8,1998.

The surviving family includes one son, Clifford D. "Kip" Prescott and his
wife, Arlene of Claremont; one daughter, Barbara Tenney of Newport;

four grandchildren, Robert "Buddy" Merrill, Michael Merrill, Lori Loring and
Travis Farrar; several great-grandchildren and nieces, Ruth Kinson of
Charlestown and Dodie Lewis of Dover, NH. 

He was pre-deceased by three brothers, Donald Prescott, Harold Prescott and
Norman Prescott; one sister, Marion Bradish; one granddaughter, Vicki
Shepard and a nephew, Ray Bradish.

There are no visiting hours.

Graveside committal services will be held in Pine Crest Cemetery in
Charlestown later in the spring.

The Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown is in charge
of arrangements.
