Dolores Marie Sweetsir, 75, of Pine Avenue in Claremont, died Thursday morning, April 17, 2008 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.   She was born in Bayonne, NJ on June 7, 1932 the daughter of John and Barbara Byrnes.  She had resided in Stonington, ME for twenty years and in Claremont for the past eight years.

Dolores worked as a clerk for the Burnt Cove Market in Stonington for many years.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, scratch tickets and loved being with her family.

She was the widow of Richard H. Sweetsir who died in July of 2000.

The surviving family includes two sons, Allen Sweetsir and his wife Ruta of Mesa, AZ and Timothy Sweetsir and his wife Debra of Ashland, NH; two daughters, Barbara Martin and her husband Armand of Claremont and Margaret Mazzola and her husband Joseph of Townsend, MA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Annie Hackett and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday afternoon from 12 noon to one o’clock prior to a memorial service at One O‘clock at the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St Mary’s Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.
