Donald Robinson Howard, 71, of Pleasant Street in Alstead, died Monday morning, August 11, 2008 at the Springfield Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, VT.

He was born in Greenport, NY on September 24, 1936 the son of Byron and Vivian (Robinson) Howard and had resided in Alstead for fifteen years.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army.

He worked as a machinist at J and L Machine Co. for ten years.

The surviving family includes one son, Shawn Howard; two daughters, Kelly Howard and Dawn Howard and an adopted daughter, Rosie Howard; six grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Howard of Riverhead, LINY and Richard Howard of Chester, VT and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside committal services, with full military honors provided by the Chester American will be held Friday, August 22nd  at Eleven O’clock in Pine Crest Cemetery with Rev. Malcolm Grobe, Pastor of the Charlestown Congregational Church officiating.
