Dorothy J. Couitt, 57, of Chestnut Street in Claremont, passed on Easter
morning at sunrise on Sunday, March 23, 2008 at her home surrounded by her
family and friends.

She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, born on August 30,
1950 the daughter of Carl and Ava (Smith) Goewey.

Dorothy graduated from Stevens High School in the Class of 1969 and went on
to receive a Licensed Nurses Assistance Degree.

She retired from Sullivan County Health Care in January of this year due to
health reasons.  She worked for a total of 34 years in health care,
including some part time work at Cedar Hill Nursing Home and Mt Ascutney
Hospital and Health Center both of Windsor, VT.

Dottie helped with the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. She
never missed a day of work and was recognized for her 30 years  as a LNA in
which she stood out as a dedicated and exemplary employee and was named
Licensed Nursing Assistant of the Year by the State of New Hampshire
Association of Counties, Nursing Home Affiliate.

The surviving family, extended family and friends includes, one son, Frank
W. Couitt and his partner Sherri Wheeler; a granddaughter, Skyanna Couitt;
her father, Carl Goewey; a brother, Richard E. Goewey and his partner,
Sandy; two  nephews, Chud & Tim all of Claremont; aunts, uncles, cousins,
including Helen (Smith) Brown; and Dottie's best friend, Sherrie Curtis;
also her extended family including, Alfreda Couitt, Richard Couitt, Robert
Couitt, Philip Couitt, Brenda Beebe, Debra Couitt, Cathy Paradis, Bonnie
Gales and Skyanna's mother, Tonya Gifford.

She was pre-deceased by her daughter, Michelle L. Couitt-West on Jan. 10,
2007; her mother, Ava (Smith) Goewey on Apr. 19, 2003 and her brother, Frank
L. Goewey on June 11, 1969.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Wednesday
evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday afternoon, Mar. 27th at One-Thirty in
the Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Winn Alley, Pastor of the First
Congregational Church, officiating.  Interment will be at a later date in Mt
View Cemetery.
