Ellen Campbell Davis, 87, formerly of Mulberry Street in Claremont died
April 1, 2008 at the Sullivan County Healthcare in Unity, NH after a long
illness.   She was born in Thetford, VT on August 11, 1920 the third of
seven children and resided in Claremont for over 60 years.  She graduated
from Thetford Academy in the Class of 1938, then she completed her nurses
training in Jersey City, NJ and in St. Johnsbury, VT, becoming an R.N.  She
retired in 1985 from Mt. Ascutney Hospital where she had 

 worked in the E.R. for over 20 years.  She also worked at Claremont General
Hospital, Windsor Hospital, Springfield Hospital and Sullivan County Nursing
Home.

Ellen married her husband Earl Leon Davis on September 30, 1944.  Earl died
on January 20, 1978. 

Her life was full of great courage, love and above all kindness to the many
people whose lives she touched. 

The surviving family includes one son, Theodore A. Davis and his wife
Barbara Leeds Davis; one grandson, Benjamin Leeds Davis all of New Rochelle,
NY and nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Gerald Campbell and Zane Campbell and
four sisters, Gretchen Campbell Jamieson, Dorothy Brady Wilmot, Joyce Brady
Leighton and Joanne Brady Lawson.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 4th at Two O'Clock PM in the
Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St., Claremont with Pastor Shinhyung Ahn of
the First United Methodist Church officiating.  A visiting hour will be held
from 1PM to 2PM prior to the service.    Interment will follow in Mt. View
Cemetery.
