Eva Evelyn Trottier, 92, of Jacqueline Ave. and formerly of Beechmont Street in Claremont died Saturday afternoon, November 1, 2008 at the Haven Health Center of Claremont.

She was born in Wilder, VT on March 6, 1916 the daughter of Arthur J. and Leda C. (Allaire) Trottier.  She had resided in Claremont since 1963 and had previously lived in Wilder, VT most of her life.  Miss Trottier retired in 1980 from the Claremont IGA Grocery Store where she worked as a meat service clerk for seventeen years and had previously worked at the Hartford Woolen Mill in Hartford, VT for ten years.  She was a communicant of St Mary’s Church, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and traveling and also loved to make pies and was known as the “pie lady”.

The surviving family includes three brothers, Emmanuel Trottier and his wife, Barbara of Winter Haven, FL, Nova Trottier and his wife Pauline of Claremont and Robert Trottier and his late wife Caroline of West Lebanon; two sisters, Bella Ruel and her husband Roland of Springfield, MA and Magella “Midge” Bellavance Doiron and her husband Paul of Claremont; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Joan Goudreau in Jan of 2005 and one infant brother, Donat Trottier in 1921.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning, November 5th at Eleven O’clock in St Mary’s Church in Claremont with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Wilder, VT.
