Frances D. Lovejoy, 83, a former long time resident of Sunapee and Claremont, died Sunday evening, May 4, 2008 at the Merry Heart Health Care Center in Succasunna, NJ.  She was born in Claremont, NH on April 30, 1925 the daughter of Omer J. and Annie Elizabeth (O’Gara) Dansereau and had resided at Perkins Pond in Sunapee and Claremont for many years.

She worked in the City Clerk’s Office in Claremont and Pratt & Whitney and retired as Paralegal and legal secretary for Leahy and Denault Law Office where she worked for 30 years.  She was a member of the Legal Secretaries Association. She loved knitting, reading, cooking, the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.

She was the widow of Paul L. Lovejoy whom she married on October 6, 1951 and he died March 17, 1981.

The surviving family includes one son, Paul L. Lovejoy, Jr. of Rockaway, NJ; two daughters, Billie Ann Medoff of Ashburn, VA and Mary Signer of  Rockaway, NJ; four grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Mary Howard in 2004 and Geraldine “Gerry” Miles in 2005.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, May 8th at Eleven O’clock in the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Eastman Cemetery in Sunapee.
