George Ellsworth "Zeke" Mathews, Jr., 80, of Parker Road in New Boston, NH,
died Tuesday afternoon, February 12, 2008 at the Elliot Hospital in
Manchester.

He was born in Marlborough, NH on October 22, 1927 the son of George E. and
Annie (Webb) Mathews, Sr.   

He graduated from Stevens High School in the Class of 1947 and attended one
year at New England Technical College in Providence, RI.

Zeke was self employed as George E. Mathews and son Plumbing, Heating &
Electrical Contractors for forty-three years and retired in 1987.

He was a former member of the Odd Fellows.

He lived in Venice, FL seasonally since 1987.

The surviving family includes his wife, Muriel Emily (Shepherd) Mathews of
New Boston; one son, George E. "Matt" Mathews, III and Linda of New Boston;
one sister, Charlotte Woodman of Laconia.

He was pre-deceased by one son, David A. Mathews and one sister, Audrey
Billings.

Funeral services will be a combined service with Audrey's on Thursday,
February 14th at Eleven O'clock in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad
Street in Claremont with Rev. Dr. Winn Alley, Pastor of the First
Congregational Church, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in At Albans Bay, Vt. Cemetery.
