Gregory Francis “Chappy” White, 51, of Canal Street in Newport, NH, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at his home in Newport.

He was born in Rumford, ME on June 29, 1957 the son of Ernest and Gladys (Williams) White, Sr. and had resided in Newport since 1975.

He had worked for Jedwin Windows & Doors in N Springfield, VT on the assembly line and for Grime Busters of Newport for several years.  He was disabled since September 6, 2007.   He enjoyed walking his dog Rascal and loved his bird, Ebert and turtle Cletus.

The surviving family includes his fiancée, Jackie  Green of Canal St., Newport, NH; one son, Gregory White, Jr. of Minnesota; a special cousin, Allen White of Newport; four brothers, Ernest White Jr. of Rumford, ME, Fred White of Rumford, ME; Paul White of Orrington, ME and Chester White of Dixfield, ME; two sisters, Joanne Palmer of Andover, ME and Bonnie Merchant of Rumford, ME and aunts, uncles and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Austin White and Tommy White.

Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Andover, ME on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Eleven O’clock with Pastor Al Buzzell, officiating.
