Helen Margaret Patch, 85, of Riverview Drive., in Charlestown, NH, died Saturday, December 13, 2008, at her home. She was born in Hartford, CT on Nov. 6, 1923 the daughter of Gabriel and Constance (Boqusz) Cudo. Mrs. Patch was one of ten children and was raised and attended school in Hartford, CT. She and her husband, Stanley, owned and operated the Howard Johnson Motor Lodge in Springfield, VT and retired in 1986. They had previously operated the Cedar Crest Motel in Rockingham, VT for twenty years. Mrs. Patch and her husband were known for many charitable donations to the towns of Charlestown and Springfield. She was the widow of Stanley Frank Patch, whom she was married for 62 years and he died October 11, 2008. The surviving family includes one daughter, Donna Small of Charlestown; one son, Stanley Patch, Jr. of Castleton, VT; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, one sister both of Hartford, CT and several nieces and nephews.
