Jacqueline Rose Claire Marie Picard, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 13, 2008 of leukemia at Port Nursing Center in Newburyport, Ma.

She was born in Claremont, NH on April 17, 1929, only child of Joseph A. and Lucille M. (Bourgeois) Levesque.  

A graduate of St Mary High School, Claremont, NH.

She was the widow of Paul J. Picard who predeceased her in 1975.

Jacqueline is survived by six children, Lucille M.Conway and spouse William of Hampton Falls, NH; Michael R. Picard of Miami Beach, Florida; Suzanne I. Constant and spouse Chris of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada; Johanne Y. Bernardini and spouse James of Ft. Myers, Florida; Peter T. Picard of Dover, NH; Paula M. Coutu of Saco, Me.

Eleven beloved grandchildren Patrick N. Leonard and spouse Pascale of St. Constant, PQ, Canada; Michele R. Leonard, St Petersburg, Florida; Gregory and spouse Jennifer; Jason M. and spouse Alicia; Lisa D. Constant and Steven P. Constant all of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Carly J. and Joseph P. Bernardini of Ft Myers, Florida; Jill A. Picard of Fayetteville, NC; Tara L. Coutu of Cape Neddick, Maine; Tyler R. Coutu of Elliot, Maine; Eight beloved great-grandchildren, Charles and Frederick Leonard; Drew and Winter Constant; Iliana and Ivalisse Saurez; Shaienne and Danielle Olson.

Also survived by several uncles and numerous cousins.

A more nurturing, loving and selfless person one could not find. Her beautiful smile and spontaneous sense of humor will be missed immensely by all whose life she touched. Throughout her life, and especially during recent years of illness, her perseverance and determination was an inspiration to everyone.

She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, playing card games, landscape painting and most of all spending time with family and friends. A highlight in her life was traveling to Hawaii in 2006 with her four daughters.

Jacqueline’s legacy is her family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 18th  at St Mary Church, in Claremont, NH at 12:00 noon, with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Saturday, from 10 to 11:30 AM prior to Mass.

Interment will follow at St Mary’s cemetery.

Donations may be made in her memory to Residence Activities, Port Rehab and Nursing Center, 113 Low Street Newburyport, MA, 01950
