Joyce Elain Beland, 67, of Chase Circle in Charlestown, died Saturday evening, November 1, 2008 at the Sullivan County Health Care after a long illness. She was born in Claremont, NH on April 30, 1941 the daughter of Walter Peter and Marjorie Helen (Dunham) Loiselle. She resided in Charlestown for the past seven years and had previously lived in Claremont. Joyce retired in 2003 from Whelen Engineering in Charlestown where she worked for six years on the assembly floor and had previously worked at American Brush in Claremont for twelve years. Joyce was a very loving mother of five children which she practically raised all by herself. This accomplishment gave her a ton of respect from family and friends alike. The surviving family includes her husband, David Beland of Charlestown whom she married on July 4, 1983; five children, Belinda Davis and Maurice Ferland both of Charlestown, Bonnie Ferland of Melbourne, FL, Dale Ferland of Newport, Tammy Plude St Petersburg, FL; two step-sons David “Skippy” Beland, Jr. of Pflugerville, TX and Darrell Beland of Charlestown; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and one sister, Patricia Wright of Springfield, VT. She adored her two lifelong friends Mary Ferland and Louise Matheson who stood by her side also Willy Matheson and the entire family. She was very grateful for all her loving friends at Whelen Engineering. She was pre-deceased by her parents, first husband, Maurice Ferland; two sisters, Maureen Furrer and Jane Stanton. As per her wishes there will be no visiting hours or funeral services.
