Joyce Oberkotter, 71, of Gilman Pond Road in Unity, died Monday evening,
March 31, 2008 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a
courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 9, 1936 the daughter of Charles Willard
and Evelyn Patricia (Coster) Hager.  She had resided in Unity since 1996 and
had previously lived in St. James, NY.

She was the widow of Robert Oberkotter whom she married on September 21,
1956 and he died July 29, 1996.

She founded the Robert & Joyce Oberkotter family foundation that provides
scholarships to moral and ethically local high school seniors.  She donated
with pleasure to local churches, schools, community centers, and humane
societies.  Her smile will be greatly missed.

The surviving family includes one son, Robert Paul Oberkotter and his wife,
Ellen of Cornish; two daughters, Gayle Christine Davis and her husband,
Davey of Cornish and Caryl Elsbeth "Pidge" McDevitt and her husband, Robert
of Unity.  She enjoyed the love of all her grandchildren, Christine,
Melissa, Amanda, Paul, and Matthew Oberkotter;  Daniel and Paul Heim;
Katelin, Megan, Mickey and Caryl McDevitt; her sister, Noel Elsbeth Powers;
her brother, Charles Willard "Bill" Hager Jr.; her sister-in-law, Mildred
Oberkotter; her uncle Ray and aunt Margot Coster; her nephew Christopher
Powers and his son Nicholas; her dog and cat and her many neighbors,
especially her dear friends Mary Anne and Dennis Greenwood as well as
numerous extended family and friends.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, April 5th at Eleven O'clock
in the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph
Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.
