Katherine  (Kuchtey) Dayton, currently a resident of the McCoy’s Home for the Elderly, died September 25, 2008 at the Valley Regional Hospital

She was born in North Conway, NH on August 13, 1913 the daughter of Demian and Anna (Kukaluk) Kuchtey.  She was raised in Claremont on the Thrasher Road and graduated from Stevens High School in the Class of 1931.  She lived in New York City from 1935 to 1952 and in Boynton Beach, FL from 1952 to 2003 when she moved back to the Claremont area.

Mrs. Dayton was employed for the State of Florida at the Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL in hospital administration for twenty years and retired in 1982.  She was the widow of Robert Dayton who died in 1982.

The surviving family includes one son, James Genovese of Crescent Lake; two grandchildren, Robin Ray Genovese and Toni Lynn Barron both of Mississippi; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Olga Walker of Claremont.   She was pre-deceased by a grandson, James Genovese, Jr. who died in 1973.

Graveside committal services will be held Tuesday morning, September 30th at Eleven O’clock in Mt View Cemetery with Rev. David Crosby, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
