Laura Baker Provost, 80, of Memorial Drive in Claremont, died April 7, 2008 at the Sullivan County Health Care after a long illness.

She was native and life long resident of Claremont born on December 1, 1927 the daughter of Ignacy and Zinaida (Kanashevich) Baker.

She was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1946.

Laura worked at the Daily Eagle most of her work life.

The surviving family includes her husband, Edward Provost of 57 years; one son, Steve Provost; one daughter, Donna Provost; seven grand-children; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Mitch Baker all of Claremont and nieces and nephews.

She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Walter Baker and Nick Baker.

There will be a time to share special memories of Laura with family and friends at three o’clock on Saturday, May 24th at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1 Bedford Farms Dr., Suite 105, Bedford, NH 03110.
