Lawrence Scott Johnson, Sr., 51, of Madison Place in Claremont, NH, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the New Britain, CT General Hospital. He was born in Hartford, CT on May 27, 1957 the son of Gunnar L. and Genevive (Hartman) Johnson. He resided in Claremont since September of 2006 and had previously lived in East Hartford, CT for over 30 years. He had served in the US Marine Corps for four years. Lawrence worked as a steamfitter for Plumber Pipe Fitter Local 777 for over thirty years. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the East Hartford Sportsman’s Club. The surviving family includes his mother, Jennie Johnson and his second dad, John Motowidlak of Claremont; two brothers. George M. Johnson of East Hartford, CT and Brian O. Johnson and his wife, Tina of Claremont; one sister, Deborah J. Hippler and her husband, Steve of Windham, CT; two sons, Lawrence Scott Johnson, Jr. and Joshua Michael Johnson both of Tiverton, RI; his loving companion, Trudy L. Decato of Claremont; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; his fishing buddies in CT, Steve Hammerlin and Pat McCluskey and countless friends. He was pre-deceased by his father, Gunnar L. Johnson and his grandparents, Gunnar S. and Annie E. Johnson. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, Nov. 22nd at Eleven O’clock in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont with Rev. Father George Majka, Pastor of St Joseph Church, officiating. Interment with full military honors provided by the Claremont American Legion Post #29 will follow in Union Cemetery. |
