Llewellyn “Pete” Jones, 72, of Center Road, Cornish died Saturday November 8, 2008 at his home. He was born in Plainfield NH the son of Harry and Susan (Strong) Jones and had resided in Cornish his entire life.
He was a well known mechanic working for a Buick dealer in the 70’s and later for Howe Motor’s in Claremont.
Pete married Beverly Marsh on September 2, 1957 and she died April 10, 1975. After her death Pete raised their three children Bonnie, Kevin and Keith.
The Surviving family includes his second wife Pearl Judkins whom he married on August 20, 1994. Seven children; Bonnie Howe and her husband Lyle of Claremont, Kevin Jones and his wife Christina of Cornish, Keith Jones and his wife Shannon of Cornish, Virginia Rines and her husband Emery of Newport, Daniel Clow of Newport, Michael Clow of Charlestown, Robin Lescord and her husband Kenny of Claremont. One brother Skip of Cornish, eighteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by four brothers; Bud, Joe, Ed, John and one sister Lula Welch.
In Pete’s failing health over the past years he received the best home care available by his daughter Virginia.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday November 11, 2008 at 1pm in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont with Pastor Dale Nicholas of the United Church of Cornish officiating. Interment with follow at the Edminster Cemetery, Cornish.
