Lucille Adosinda Daniels, 101, a longtime resident of Claremont, died Wednesday morning, April 30, 2008 at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen, NH.

She was born in Lowell, MA on April 25, 1907 the daughter of Antonio and Maria da Conceicao (Sousa) Braga.

Lucille had resided in Claremont for 80 years, arriving from Oakland, CA in 1926, living on North, Washington and First Streets and lived at the Earl Bourdon Centre for 16 years and in 2006 moved to Boscawen.

She loved her family and spending time visiting them.  She loved traveling to California to visit life long friends from her childhood and young adult years and traveling with the seniors and her dear friend Verna Boardman who died in 1986.

She was the widow of Alfred L. Daniels whom she married on August 30, 1935 and he died August 10, 1971.  She was also predeceased by two sons, George R. Daniel in 1993 and Alfred J. Daniels in 1995 and one brother Albert Braga in 1997.

The surviving family includes one daughter, Jacqueline Daniels Boardman  and her husband James of The Villages Florida; daughter-in-law, Margaret Carpenter Daniel of Enfield, CT; six granddaughters, Beverly Daniels Sucharzewski and her husband Peter of Newport, NH, Donna Daniel Hacksunda and her husband Robert of South Windsor, CT, Rosemary Daniel of Taylor, TX, Joann Daniels Dutra of Florida, Audrey Daniel LaMesa and her husband Paul of Enfield, CT and Lawri Boardman Kidder and her husband Rex of Salisbury, NH; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Trudel Dillon residing at the Merrimack County Nursing Home in Boscawen also several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, at 11:00 AM in St Joseph Church with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor officiating.

Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.
