Lynn Riker Gignac, 73, of
Plainfield, NH
died on Thursday October 9, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Plainfield
with her family by her side. She was born June 5, 1935 in Orange,
NJ to Florence
(Fox) and Donald B. Riker. She lived in Maplewood,
NJ, graduated from Columbia
High School, and earned Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Miami
University in Oxford,
OH.
She married Paul A. Gignac July 8,
1961. They lived in Alfred,
NY where they raised their 4 children. She was a devoted wife and mother. Early in their marriage
Lynn colored portraits for Paul’s photography studio. As her children grew up she also worked as a teacher’s
aid at the Alfred Playschool and at Alfred-Almond
Central
School. When her family was young, she loved camping at “The Pond” and “The Cabin” in
Alfred, NY. After retirement, she enjoyed fishing at Cape Vincent, NY,
traveling in the United States, Canada, and Europe, summering in Plainfield and wintering in Seminole, FL.
Lynn was predeceased by her sister Ann R. Wood Stopper. Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years,
Paul A. Gignac; two daughters and their spouses, Jill and Tim Hanson of Charlestown, NH and Amy and David Brady of Plainfield, NH; two
sons John Gignac of Lebanon, NH and David Gignac of Langley, WA; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Emily Brady.
A private graveside committal service
will be held at the convenience of the family in Hope Hill
Cemetery in Charlestown. In lieu of flowers donations
may be made to the American Cancer Society.
