Margaret Mae Davis, 88, of the Charlestown Road in Acworth, NH, died Monday morning, April 14, 2008 at her home.  She was born in Charlestown, NH on October 23, 1919 the daughter of James William and Alice L. (Knight) Scranton and had resided in Acworth since the early 50’s.

Margaret enjoyed knitting, crocheting and being with her family.

She was the widow of Robert D.B. Davis, Sr. whom she married on Aug. 22, 1936 and he died November 11, 2000.  The surviving family includes one daughter, Mrs. Fred E. (Joan Ann) DeCelle of Perkinsville, VT; one son, Robert D.B. Davis, Jr. of Acworth; three grandsons; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; one great-great granddaughter; one sister, Edna Louise Jillson of Grafton and nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  She was pre-deceased by two daughters, Alice L. Davis in 1938 and Donna L. Roberge in 1974; one sister, Olive J. Elliott; three brothers, Albert E. Scranton, Alfred Scranton and Walter A. Scranton.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, April 17th at Eleven O’clock in the Funeral Home with Bishop Savage of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints conducting the services.

Interment will be at a later date in the Acworth Cemetery.
