Mildred G. Bakis, 81, of Hillside Drive in Charlestown, died Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

She was born in Bridgeport, CT on May 24, 1926 the daughter of Andrew and Mildred (Cieplinsky) Voynick and had resided in Charlestown for the past 26 years and had previously lived in Trumbull, CT.

Mrs. Bakis retired in 1982 from General Electric where she worked as an assembler and had previously worked at Sikorsky Aircraft.

She was a communicant of St Catherine’s Church of Charlestown.

The surviving family includes her husband, Frank J. Bakis of Charlestown; two sons, Frank J. Bakis Jr. of Claremont and Robert Bakis of Beverly Hills, FL; two grandchildren; two sisters, Andrea Sperry and Barbara Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Catherine Church on Monday, May 19 at eleven o’clock with Rev. Father Michael  Gendron, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT.
