Niels “Pete” Conrad Lundgren, 86, of Little Canada Road in Weathersfield, VT, died Sunday afternoon, February 24, 2008 at the Valley Regional Hospital.  He was born in Staten Island, NY on June 29, 1921 the son of Conrad and Alma (Gumason) Lundgren.  He came to Claremont and lived on Bible Hill for four years and on Elm Street for twenty-nine years and had resided in Weathersfield for the past forty-four ˝ years.

Mr. Lundgren was a farmer, growing mostly gladiolas for many years and was employed as a truck driver for Agway, Inc. for fifty-four years and also was a substitute driver for the post office.

He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Claremont.

The surviving family includes his wife, Joyce (Stoughton) Brown Lundgren of Weathersfield whom he married on June 1, 1963;  four daughters, Kathy Brown Blum of Weathersfield, Donna Brown McNeil of Claremont, Janice Brown Thomson of Pompton Plains, NJ and Ruth Lundgren Roberts of Weathersfield;  also three son-in-laws; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandson.  He was pre-deceased by one sister, Helen Lundgren Buckles.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral Services were held February 27th at Two O’clock in the Calvary Baptist Church, with Stephen Cook, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will be Saturday, June 28th at Eleven O’clock at Plains Cemetery in Weathersfield, VT.
