Oren "Joe" Lee Roy Carleton, 65, of Morways Mobile Home Park, died
Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at his home.
He was born in Keene, NH on February 2, 1943 the son of William D. and
Dorothy A. (Curtis) Carleton. He lived in Charlestown for the past three
years and had resided in Claremont most of his life.
He attended Stevens High School and was a veteran of the Vietnam War having
served in the US Army.
Mr. Carleton owned and operated Joe's Auto Repair and Wrecker Service in
West Claremont for thirty years and retired in 2005. He worked for one year
as an auto mechanic at Roberts Auto Service in Lebanon.
The surviving family includes two sons, Kenneth L. Carleton of Claremont and
Thomas E. Carleton of Fuquay Yarina, NC; one daughter, Trisha Colburn of
Claremont; six grandsons; one granddaughter; one brother, William A.
Carleton of Phelan, CA; two sisters, Rita E. Luce of Holden, ME and Marie A.
Smith of Marino Valley, CA also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning, April 4th at Eleven O'clock at
the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor of St Mary's
Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his
memory to the Arthritis Foundation of New Hampshire, 6 Chenell Drive, Ste.
260, Concord, NH 03301-3930.
