Patricia Ruby (Walker) Wilson, 88, of Charlestown, died April 14, 2008, at home surrounded by family.

    She was born March 26, 1920 in Graniteville, Quebec, to the late Thomas M. and Alexina (Grant) Walker formerly of Aberdeen, Scotland. 

    Ruby, as she was known to friends and family, enjoyed skiing and dancing in her youth and time with her nieces and nephew, Marilyn; Carolyn; and Earl.

    On June 20, 1948, she married Giles A. Wilson of Derby Line, VT.  They traveled across the country living in California, Alabama and Connecticut.  At 46 years old, her greatest joy was the birth of her only child, Dale.  Ruby was a caring and loving Mother, with great pride in Dale’s artistic abilities.  Ruby loved to help Giles with remodeling homes and in 1979 they settled in Charlestown, NH.

    After 54 years of a loving relationship, Giles passed away in 2003.  Her niece, Marilyn, has been her housemate and caregiver since then and they have had many good times traveling together.

   Always the active octogenarian, Ruby enjoyed raking her lawn, travel, shopping and her son’s motorcycles.

She had a smile to the end of her life and she will be greatly missed and loved always by all who knew her.                            

   Ruby was able to be in comfort, in her home, and with her family because of the wonderful care and nursing of the Hospice team from Connecticut Valley Home Care.

    Ruby is survived by her son, Dale Andrew Wilson of Charlestown; nieces Marilyn Heath Spencer of Charlestown; Carolyn Heath Sullivan and husband, Paul, of Hopkinton, MA; Marian Walker Levine of Watertown, VT; nephews Earl Donald Heath and wife, Janice, of Montgomery, AL; Douglas Walker of Burlington, VT; and many other nieces and nephews.  Ruby is also survived by brother-in-law Royce Wilson of Derby Line, VT; sister-in-law Joyce Wilson of Denver, CO; and family friends, Bruce and Mary Muir of Derby Line, VT; Peter and Betty Thibedau; James Young all of Claremont, NH; John Ward and wife, Vickie, of Lebanon, NH. 

    She was predeceased by her husband, Giles Andrew Wilson; her brother, Robert Walker; sisters, Isabella Macleod, Alexena Reader, Eleanor Heath, Ella Foley, and Phyllis Jipner.

    A memorial service will be held at 2PM on April 19, 2008, at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH with the Rev. Dr. Winn Alley of the First Congregational Church in Claremont officiating.   Burial will be on a later date at the Derby Line Cemetery, in Derby Line, VT.  There will be no calling hours.
