Paul Emile Beaudry, 83, of the Old Claremont Road in Charlestown, NH died Thursday morning, May 15, 2008 at the Haven Health Center of Claremont.

He was born in Wolcott, VT on April 10, 1925 the son of Emile J. and Estelle (LeMay) Beaudry and had resided in Charlestown since 1941.

He attended school in Newport Center, VT and one year at California Technical Institute in Glendale, CA.   He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy from 1942 to 1945.

Paul was a truck driver most of his life, working for Frank and Arthur Whitcomb and retired in 1990.  He later worked part time at Beaudry Enterprises, Inc. for 13 years.

He was a Charter Member of St Catherine of Siena Council #6938 Knights of Columbus and Father Cote Assembly #0635 Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1201 of Claremont and a member of the Charlestown Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8497 where in 1991 he received a plaque for his 30 years of loyal and dedicated service as Quartermaster.

The surviving family includes one brother, Normand R. Beaudry and his wife, Antoinette of Charlestown; two sisters, Veronique M. Nadeau widow of Rosaire of Charlestown and Pauline M. Martineau and her husband Ralph of Keene; three sister-in-laws, Georgette Theroux of Claremont, Ethel May Beaudry and Arlene T. Beaudry both of Charlestown also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by five brothers, Roger Beaudry in April of 1942, Fernand P. Beaudry on Aug. 26, 1957, Gerard J. “Jerry” Beaudry on July 9, 1994, J. Rosaire Beaudry on Jan. 3, 1997 and Herve J. Beaudry on July 3, 2006.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday, May 19th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

Members of Father Cote Assembly Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand as an Honor Guard on Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 PM, St Catherine of Siena Council Knights of Columbus will conduct a prayer service at 7 PM and the Charlestown Memorial VFW Post #8497 will conduct a service at 7:30 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning at Eleven O’clock in St Mary’s Church in Claremont with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating.

Interment with full military honors by the Fall Mt. ROTC will follow in St Catherine of Siena Cemetery in Charlestown.
