Pearl Wainshal, 87, of Durham Avenue in Claremont, died Tuesday evening, May 6, 2008 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA

She was born in Manchester, NH on June 8, 1920, the daughter of Celia (Kavesh) and Daniel Lippman.

She graduated Salutatorian from Manchester West High School and graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1942. She worked as a lab technician for Sealtest Ice Cream in Springfield, MA for 5 Years and as a dietician at the Lowell General Hospital for 5 years. Pearl also helped with bookkeeping at Wainshal’s Furniture Store, particularly on Friday nights.

She was a member of The Ladies Union Aid Society, Temple- Meyer David, Hadassah, a past president of Sisterhood and Hadassah, Twin State Valley Tennis Club and Performed in the Cardiac Capers.

Pearl was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her family, painting, poetry, tennis, bridge and cooking. She had also played golf and made a hole-in-one at the Claremont Country Club. Pearl loved to travel and took many wonderful trips with her husband. Many wonderful winters were spent in Florida, as well.

Pearl was the widow of Philip Wainshal, whom she married on June 24, 1951. He died on April 20, 1981.

She was also pre-deceased by one daughter, Diane Linda Wainshal on November 2, 1980, and one sister, Lillian Diamond, on February 4, 2003.

The surviving family includes one daughter, Sandra Schneider, and her husband, Michael; two grandchildren, Abby and Phil Schneider; and several nieces.

A Funeral Service will be held Friday morning, May 9th at Ten O’clock

in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont with Rabbi Edward S. Boraz, of The Upper Valley Jewish Community of Hanover, Officiating.

Interment will follow in the Meyer David Cemetery in Claremont.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to The Valley Regional Hospital Renovation Fund, Payable to VRH, The Philanthropy Department, 243 Elm Street, Claremont, NH 03743.
