Raymond J. Bresell passed away quietly at home in Claremont, NH at the age of 84 on August 30, 2008.  He was born on January 28, 1924 in Manchester, NH, the son of Peter and Eveline (Belleville) Bresell and lived most of his life in Claremont.   After graduating from Stevens High School in1941, Raymond served in the US Army in Europe during the Second World War.  After the war, he returned home and married E. Ida Newell in February 1947.  Married for almost 60 years, Ida died in 2006.  Raymond was employed by Joy Manufacturing Company and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.  For the past 25 years, Mr. and Mrs. Bresell were true snowbirds, spending their winters in Florida and summers in Claremont.

Mr. Bresell is survived by his children, Nancy, Ronald and Janice Bresell; by three grandsons, Michael Bresell, Matthew Sweeney and Jake Sweeney; and by three sisters-in-law, Wanda Bresell of Claremont, Lillian Harvey and Sadie Newell both of Florida.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Monday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning, September 2nd at Eleven O’clock in St Mary’s Church with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.
