Richard (Dick) Cann, 92, passed away April 13, 2008 in Scranton, PA with his family close by.  He was born March 16, 1916 in Claremont, NH, son of Chauncey and Anna (Tremblay) Cann.

Dick graduated from Stevens High School in 1935.

He trained as a machinist at the Joy Manufacturing Company in Claremont before moving to Schenectady, NY to work for The General Electric Co. in the large steam turbine department.

Dick married Aldyth Currier on July 20, 1942 and she died January 21, 2004.

The surviving family includes three children, Peter of Syracuse, NY, Michael of Scranton, PA and Carroll Leonovich of Bellingham, WA; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dick served his community many years as a member of the Ballston Lake, NY Fire Department, the Ballston Lake Rescue Squad, and a communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church.

He was an avid golfer and loved the outdoors spending many hours hiking, biking, and boating.

After he retired from GE in 1978 Dick and Aldyth enjoyed spending the winters at their place in Estero, FL and summers on Ballston Lake.
