Robert Paul Oberkotter, 49, of Sunrise Hill Road in Cornish, NH, died Sunday morning, June 15, 2008 at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon.

He was born in Long Island, NY on February 7, 1959 the son of Robert and Joyce (Hager) Oberkotter and had resided in Cornish for nearly twenty-five years.  Robert graduated from Johnson State College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and also had one year of post graduate study at the State University of NY in Albany.  He was a self employed artist.

Robert was a member of the Board of Mid Vermont Christian School as well as the Board of Singing Hills Christian Conference Center.

The surviving family includes his wife, Ellen Margaret (Murphy) Oberkotter whom he married on June 22, 1985; five children, Christine Virginia, Melissa Oberkotter, Amanda Oberkotter, Paul Oberkotter and Matthew Oberkotter all of Cornish; two sisters, Gayle Christine Davis of Cornish and Caryl Elsbeth “Pidge” McDevitt of Unity and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration Of Life will be held at the Christ Community Church on Route 12A in Plainfield on Thursday morning, June 19th at Eleven O’clock with Pastor Brian Sayers, officiating.

Interment will follow in the West Claremont Burial Grounds in Union Cemetery in West Claremont.

A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the interment back at the Christ Community Church.
