Shirley A. Tewksbury, 69, devoted and loving wife, mother and friend died at
her home, Wednesday April 9, 2008 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Windsor, VT on November 23, 1938 the daughter of Stanley and
Winifred (Freeland) Clay.
She retired as a casework specialist from the State of New Hampshire, where
she helped many families.
Her family was the core of her life. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening,
caring for others, her Florida home, family gatherings and her quality of
life with her husband.
The surviving family includes her husband of 52 years, Raymond O. Tewksbury;
her son, Steven and his wife Karen of Nelson, her daughter, Donna McNeil and
her husband Michael of Claremont, her son, Michael and his wife Rhonda of
Charlestown, her son, Gregg and his wife Sharon of Chesterfield and her son,
Daniel and his wife Lauren of Lee; Her Grandchildren, Tony, Andrew, Sara,
Christopher, Nicolyn, Hannah, Parker, Garret, Riley, Courtney, Cooper,
Marisa, Ashley; great Granddaughter, Julianna and her expected great
granddaughter, Elisabeth; her sister, Carol Norton and her husband Dennis
of Claremont.
She was pre-deceased by her father, Stanley Clay; her mother, Winifred
LaRocque; her step-father, Stuart LaRocque; her brother, Harvey Clay; her
grandsons, Drew Tewksbury and William Dufour.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Friday evening from 5 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, April 12th at Two O'clock
at the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Gary Kosmowski of St. Joseph Church in
Laconia, NH officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Cemetey.
