Stanley Earl Arbuckle, 75, of
Erin Court
in Charlestown, died Friday morning, May 30, 2008 at his home surrounded by his
family.
He was born in
Randolph, VT
on September 7, 1932 the son of Roy and Eva (McIntosh) Arbuckle. He resided in
Charlestown for the past twenty-two years and formerly lived in Chester,
VT for thirty years.
Stanley
graduated from Kurn Hattin Homes in Westminster,
VT and from the Agricultural
Tech Trade School in
Randolph,
VT.
He served in the US Army just after
the Korean War.
Stanley
worked as a lineman for thirty years for the Central Vermont Public Service Co. out of
Springfield,
VT.
He loved playing golf at the
Rockingham Country Club of which he was a member. He also enjoyed water and snow skiing, snowmobiling, helping people repairing and
fixing their homes. He loved his children and grandchildren. He was one of the most unselfish person you ever met and always putting
others before himself.
The surviving family includes two
daughters, Patricia Doody of Chester,
VT and Linda Bigelow of Charlestown; one son, Brett
Arbuckle of S. Londonderry, VT; eight grandchildren, Gregory Doody, Jesse Arbuckle Heidi Arbuckle, Bart Arbuckle Karissa Mack,
Jennifer Arbuckle, Kaitlyn Mack and Tiffani Bigelow; one brother, Robert Arbuckle of Grafton and Virginia Arbuckle of Langdon; nieces
and nephews and Mary Ann Shauger, former wife and mother of his children and dear friend.
He was pre-deceased by one brother
James Arbuckle.
Friends may call at the Charlestown
Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in
Charlestown on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held
Wednesday evening, June 4th at 5:30 PM at the South
Parish
Unitarian Church
on S. Main Street in Charlestown with Rev. Roger Wotton, Pastor of the United Church of Randolph, Officiating.
Interment with full military honors
will be held Thursday morning, June 5th at Eleven O’clock at the State of Vermont Veterans Cemetery in
Randolph, VT.
