Wendell Amos Stone, 88, of Beckwith Avenue in Claremont, died Sunday
morning, March 30, 2008 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in
Lebanon.  He was born in Cornish, NH on November 28, 1919 the son of Harry
and Ruth (Chase) Stone and had resided in Claremont most of his life.  He
retired from Joy Manufacturing Company in 1982 where he worked as a
machinist and had previously worked at Cone-Blanchard in Windsor, VT.  Mr.
Stone enjoyed hunting and fishing, traveling, square dancing, gardening and
Nintendo. He was a former member of the Cornish Grange.

The surviving family includes two sons, Stuart L. Stone and his wife, Mary
and William H. Stone and his wife, Bonnie Jean all of Claremont; one
daughter, Judith G. Farrington of Sumter, SC; six grandchildren, Jonathan,
Lianne, Angela, Gina, Jason and Jamie; five great-grandchildren; nieces,
nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by one daughter, Wendy Lorraine Stone who died  July 28,
2007;one brother, Roland Stone; two sisters, Geneva Laventure and Josie
Beebe.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Tuesday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon, April 2nd at One O'clock
in the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor,
officiating.

Graveside services for Wendell Amos Stone, 88, of Beckwith Avenue in Claremont, who died March 30, 2008 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon will be held Saturday, May 24th at Eleven O’clock in Child Cemetery in Cornish with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor, of St. Joseph Church officiating.
