Barbara Edna Chase, 65, of Washington Street in Claremont, died peacefully at home, Saturday morning, July 11, 2009 after a long battle with her health.   She was born in Biddeford, ME on October 5, 1943 the daughter of Roland and Frances (Hayes) Magoon and had resided in Claremont for the past forty years.   

Barbara worked as a licensed nurse’s aid at Cedar Hill Nursing Home in Windsor, VT where she worked for two years before retiring.   She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and most importantly, the love for her family.   The surviving family includes her husband, Carl Chase, Jr. of Claremont; three sons, Warren C. Chase & his wife, Cathy of Guild, Dennis J. Chase of Claremont and Iver S. Chase & his wife, Toni of Unity; one daughter, Jennifer L. Chase & her significant other, Eric, of Bellows Falls, VT;  seven grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; three brothers, Iver Magoon, Roland Magoon and Harry Magoon all of Claremont; three sisters, Evelyn Pardee, Judith Magoon and Georgeann Derosier all of Claremont and several nieces, nephews and cousins.   She was pre-deceased by a sister, Eleanor Magoon in 2008.
