Clarence Charles Williams, 68, of Perkinsville, VT died Monday morning, May 18, 2009 at his home. He was born in Claremont, NH on May 7, 1941 the son of Clarence and Katherine (Wirrell) Williams and had resided in Cornish for 35 years. He was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1961. He had worked part-time since 2004 for A & M Automotive, previously for Customized Structures, Inc., Dartmouth Motor’s, Howe Motor’s, Mal Tool on the River Road and for Davis & Symonds Lumber Co. for 23 years. Clarence was a member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Windsor Elk’s Lodge #1665 and a member and Past Governor of the Claremont Moose Family Center #1201 where he was very active in both organizations. He was the widower of Jean A. (Williams) Williams whom he married on March 2, 1968 and she died April 16, 1991. The surviving family includes three daughters, Tina M. Ripley and her husband Steve of Weare, NH, Tammy L. Williams of Hartland, VT and Tracey J. Bundy and her husband, Bill of Claremont; his loving companion of the last ten years, Carol Sylvia of Perkinsville, VT; three grandchildren, Cody, Zackary and Kiley; three sisters, Shirley Desharnais and Patricia Young both of Claremont and Joyce Lowman of Lebanon; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont Friday evening May 22nd from 6 to 9pm with the Windsor Elk’s conducting a service at 7pm followed by members of the Claremont Moose. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 23rd at Eleven O’Clock in the Stringer Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Louise Nicholas, Pastor of the United Church of Cornish, officiating. Interment will follow in Edminster Cemetery in Cornish.
