Doris (Leclerc) Courtemanche, 80, of 167 Maple Avenue in Claremont, passed away in her sleep at Valley Regional Hospital on October 26, 2009.  She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, born on November 12, 1928, the daughter of Donat and Lea (Lambert) Leclerc.  Doris graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1946 as the class valedictorian.  She worked in the bookkeeping department at Indian Head Bank for many years and later as clerk at Kmart Department Store, both in Claremont, NH, retiring in 1993. 
She was married to Norman Courtemanche on May 15, 1948.  Doris now re-joins her husband who predeceased her on October 13, 2009.  She is survived by her six children: Bruce and his wife Sandy of S. Berwick, ME; Tony and his wife Teresita of Sheridan, OR; Linda Clark and her husband Dave of Rockville, MD; Neil and his wife Pearl of Claremont, NH; Brenda Frost and her husband Ehrhard of Thetford, VT and Eric and his wife Laurie of Queen Creek, AZ; her two brothers: Roland and his wife Vivette of Escondido, CA and Donald and his wife Chris of Franklin Sq., NY and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Doris was active in St. Mary's Church as a Eucharistic minister, a church lector, a chapel caretaker and a member of the St. Anne Society.
Doris will be remembered by her friends and family as warm, loving and supportive.  Her smiles and warm hugs will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
Memorial contributions in Doris' name can be made to Elm Wood Center at 290 Hanover St. Claremont, NH 03743 for the social enrichment of the residents. 
As per Doris’s wishes, there are no public visiting hours.

A Mass of Christian Burial and service to celebrate Doris' life and mourn her death will be held at St. Mary's Church on Central St. at 1:30PM, Thursday,  October 29, 2009 with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, Pastor, officiating.   Interment will follow in St Mary’s Cemetery.
