Gary W. Merrill Jr., 46, of Main Street Charlestown died suddenly Friday afternoon May 29, 2009 at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont.

He was born in Claremont, NH on June 27, 1962 the son of Gary W. Merrill Sr. and the late Patricia (Asanowicz) Merrill.

He was a graduate of Fall Mountain Regional High School in the class of 1980 and worked locally as a carpenter and woodworker.

Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching all types of sporting events especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. 

He also loved spending time with his children and family.

The family includes his longtime companion Sherri Mason of Charlestown;

two sons Gary W. Merrill III and his wife MJ and Brett Merrill all of Newport, NH;

two daughters Samantha Merrill of Charlestown and Sadie Rice of Springfield, VT;

his father and mother Gary Sr. and Sandi Merrill of Charlestown; 

two sisters Kathy St. Pierre and her husband David of Charlestown and Sally Bouchard and her husband Rick of Claremont.

his grandmother Alice Merrill; his grandparents Sarah and Arthur Bailey of Charlestown; a step brother David Mosley and his wife Michelle;

 also several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

At Gary’s request there will be no visiting hours or funeral services and that his ashes be scattered at Big Brook where he had many fond memories with his father.
