George Steven Avery, 65, of Newport, NH died Saturday, January 24, 2009, unexpectedly at his home.  He was born on November 5, 1943 the son of Sherwood and Charlotte (Fletcher) Avery in Manchester, NH. 

He had resided in Manchester until several years ago when he moved to Newport, NH with his sister and brother-in-law.  He was an excellent handyman who enjoyed doing for others. 

He is survived by three sisters, Florence Spaulding and her husband Paul, Norma Aubin, Beverly Avery; two brothers, Sherwood Avery and his wife Shirley, Richard Avery and his wife Sylvia, numerous step-brothers, step-sisters, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was pre-deceased by his parents, three brothers, and a brother-in-law.

No services are scheduled at this time and will be announced at a later date.
