Hazel Whipple, 96, formally of 67 Maple Avenue died Tuesday morning May 26, 2009 at Valley Regional Hospital.

She was born in Meriden, NH on May 23, 1913 the daughter of George and Juliette (Leinker) Slack.

Hazel married Melvin Whipple on April 8, 1939 and he died July 19, 1975.

The family includes two sons Barry Whipple of Florida and Brian Whipple of Claremont; one grandson Terry Whipple of Woodstock, NH, two great-grandsons, Zachary Whipple and Alex Whipple of Woodstock; four sisters Florence Woodman, June Fleury and Marilyn Hood all of Claremont and Alice Schultz of Unity; one brother Howard Slack of Glencliff, NH.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 29^th at 11AM in the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street with Rev. Scott Kearns of the First Baptist Church officiating.  Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 am prior to the service.  Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
