Joyce LaClair, 68, of Jonesville Road in Cornish, died Friday morning, June 5, 2009 at her home.

She was born in Hanover, NH on September 26, 1940 the daughter of Clinton and Alice (Withington) Chamberlain and had resided in Cornish for over thirty years,

Joyce worked as a nurse’s assistant at the Mt Ascutney Hospital in Windsor for seventeen years and retired in 1992,

She was the widow of Cecil A. LaClair whom she married on May 16, 1959 and he died September 15, 2007.

The surviving family includes four sons, Kenneth LaClair and Stewart LaClair both of Claremont, Douglas LaClair of Enfield and Daniel LaClair of NC; four daughters, Matilda Stacey of St Johnsbury, VT, Marinda Patterson of Claremont, Margaret Jones of Cornish and Cheryl Golembiowski of PA; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Chamberlain, Kenneth Fogg and Douglas Chamberlain; two sisters, Dorothy Rosa and Nancy Hightower and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at Twelve Noon in Childs Cemetery in Cornish with Chris Golembiowski, officiating.

A reception will follow at the Cornish Town Hall.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Cornish Rescue Squad.
