Lena U. Read, 95, formerly of White Birches Home died at the Elmwood Center at Claremont on Thursday March 26, 2009. 

She was a native and lifelong resident of Claremont, born on March 4, 1914 and had resided at Paddy Hollow Road for 71 years.  She worked as a computer parts controller for Joy Manufacturing Company for 35 years and retired in 1980.  She is a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.

Family includes numerous nieces, nephews and cousins including Christopher G. Deurell of Claremont, NH; Jo Ann U. Chase and her husband, Harold of Claremont and Cynthia Rozela of East Hartford, CT. 

She was predeceased by one brother, John Usko; four sisters, Annie Tobin, Stacy Jones, Helen Usko, Rose Duerell and cousin, Jennie Tinker.

Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, Saturday morning, March 28^th at 11 o’clock with Reverend Susan Langle of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Officiating.

Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 10 to 11 prior to the service.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery.
