Levi F. LaClair, 93, of Winter Street Ext., in Claremont, died Saturday morning, April 4, 2009 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

He was a native and life long resident of Claremont born on September 18, 1915 the son of Bert and Jane (Tucker) LaClair.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army with the 172nd Field Artillery.

He retired in 1981 from the Claremont Paper Company where he worked as a mechanic for 20 years.  He had previously worked for Pierce Brothers Dairy in Claremont.

He was the widow of Helen A. (Brown) LaClair whom he married on Oct. 29, 1973 and she died May 11, 1993.

He was also pre-deceased by to sons, Robert C. LaClair and Kenneth LaClair; a sister, Lula Ruest and two brothers, an infant, Raymond LaClair and Alfred LaClair.

He is survived by a grandson, Scott LaClair of Nashua; and a brother, Rodney LaClair of Groveton and several nieces, nephews and very close friends, the Jack McKenzie family in Claremont.

Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date in the spring in Mt View Cemetery in Claremont.
