Lorraine Eunice Adams, 77, of Wheeler Rand Road, Charlestown died Thursday morning August 27, 2009 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. She was born in Springfield, VT on July 3, 1932, the daughter of Frank W. and Daisy Corabelle (Keith) Quimby. She moved to Charlestown from Springfield, VT at the age of six and graduated from Holden High School the class of 1950. Lorraine worked at the International Shoe for twelve years, Claremont Maid Shoe Shop for three years and Sportwelt Shoe of Newport for ten years. She also worked Claremont Savings Bank and Grobet File for twenty three years. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, reading, all kinds of crafts and various craft workshops, oil painting, gardening and traveling. Lorraine loved to visit with her grandchildren and great grandson. She married George W. Davis in 1950 and he died on November 23, 1964. She then married James P. Adams and he died on December 12, 1992. The family includes one daughter, Ilene Beattie of Windsor, VT; one son, Lance Davis of Charlestown, NH; two grandchildren, Sarah Brothers and Jamie Beattie; a great grandson, Rowan Brothers; a close niece, Betty Lerch; one step-daughter, Wilda Lyn Hoskinson of Virginia; two step-sons, Thomas R. Adams and Steven H. Adams both of Charlestown; also several nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, August 31st at 2pm in Pine Crest Cemetery on the Old Claremont Road, Charlestown, NH with Priscilla Hull of the First United Methodist Church officiating. The family suggests donations may be made in her memory to American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Manchester, NH 03101-1518. |
