Monique Madeline Bedard, 83, of Wheeler Ave in Charlestown died Tuesday October 27, 2009 at her home surrounded by loving family members. She was born in Roxton Falls, Quebec, Canada on August 15, 1926 the daughter of Armand and Rose (Girard) Coderre, and had lived in Claremont for the past 40 years. She went to work for Joy Manufacturing Company in 1962 and worked in office maintenance until her retirement in 1982, and had previously worked for Sportswelt Shoe Company and International Shoe Company. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Parish. Monique was a devoted wife and mother, who gave generously of her time and compassion to extended family members. She was always willing to sit and listen to other’s problems, was a constant source of comfort and encouragement. She loved to cook and regularly delighted family and friends with her many culinary creations over the years. The family includes her husband Edward Victor Bedard whom she married on June 8, 1946; one son, Gary Edward Bedard and his wife Debbie of Durham, NC; three sisters and one brother. She was especially close to and dearly loved by several nieces and nephews including Linda and Karen Lithatsh, Beverly Pelliter, Bonnie Brunelle Ota and George Maincent. Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, on Friday October 30th from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Saturday morning October 31st at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
