Neal Scott Johnson, 48, of Old State Road, Charlestown died Monday October 5, 2009 unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Claremont NH on April 27, 1961 the son of Kenneth and Joann (Martell) Johnson.

Neal worked for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department for more than twenty-five years as a heavy equipment operator.

He loved camping, hunting and his dogs. He put others before himself. He loved being around Jazzmin Hersom, Kaylee and Audrina Pelton and other kids in the family.

The family includes his mother, Joann of Charlestown; a son, Justin Johnson of Cornish; a daughter, Kayla Johnson of Claremont; two brothers, Mark Johnson of Illinois and Gary Johnson of White River Jct. VT; three sisters, Janet Weed of Cornish, Karen Thompson of Bridgewater, VT and Wendy Johnson of Charlestown; Roxanne Johnson, his ex-wife and mother to his children; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.   He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Johnson in 2002.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St. in Claremont Friday evening October 9th from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 10th at 11am at the Stringer Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley J. Piwowar, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
