Norman F. Courtemanche, 80, died after a short illness on Tuesday October 13, 2009 at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

He was born in Claremont NH on April 29, 1929, the son of Ernest and Laura (Gilbert) Courtemanche. 

He was a graduate of St. Mary High School.  He worked at Joy Manufacturing until he retired in April of 1984. 

He is survived by his wife Doris whom he married May 15, 1948.  Their six children; Bruce Courtemanche of Maine, Anthony Courtemanche of Oregon, Linda Clark of Maryland, Neil Courtemanche of Claremont, Brenda Courtemanche of Vermont and Eric Courtemanche of Arizona.  Three siblings; Andre Courtemanche, Roger Courtemanche and Georgette Crosby.  And numerous grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Norman was strong and tall like a pine tree that bends in the wind.

Funeral services will be held at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, on Friday at one in the afternoon with Father Shawn Therrien of St. Mary Church officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
